Last week TayganPoint participated in its 6th annual Millhill Day of Caring at the Millhill Child and Family Development Center in Trenton, NJ.
Preparation for the Day of Caring began well in advance of the Friday in May. TayganPoint hosted a company wide donation for books and supplies resulting in the collection of over 150 new and used books and a ton of basic school supplies. Volunteers were eager to load up their cars and bring the books and supplies.
Thirteen TayganPoint volunteers arrived at Millhill ready to take over teacher duties for the day. After being separated into various classrooms, volunteers engaged with the children, reading books to groups of attentive listeners. When the stories were over, it was time for arts and crafts where each child received a shiny cape and an eye mask and with the help of our volunteers, decorated the items with glitter stickers. The day ended at Millhill with indoor games as sadly, the weather wasn’t cooperating for outdoor fun.
